Upgrade to 1Password 8

Upgrade if you have a 1Password membership

If you already have a 1Password membership, or if you belong to a team or family account, it’s easy to upgrade to 1Password 8. To get started, download 1Password 8 and install it.

If you’re upgrading from 1Password 7, you’ll see all your accounts when you open the 1Password 8 app for the first time.

If you’re upgrading from 1Password 6, open the 1Password 8 app after you install it and click Sign In. Choose your 1Password account, then enter your account password.

Upgrade if you have standalone vaults

If you’re using 1Password with standalone vaults, migrate your data to a 1Password account so you can upgrade to 1Password 8.

If you’re upgrading from 1Password 7

If you’re using 1Password 7, learn how to migrate your data to a 1Password account.

If you’re upgrading from 1Password 6

If you’re using 1Password 6, you’ll need to upgrade to 1Password 7 and migrate your data to a 1Password account before you can upgrade to 1Password 8. Learn how to migrate your standalone vaults from 1Password 6 for Mac to a 1Password account.

Upgrade if you have a 1Password membership

If you already have a 1Password membership, or if you belong to a team or family account, download 1Password 8 from the App Store. If you’re upgrading from 1Password 7, open the 1Password 8 app after you install it and tap Sign In. Choose your 1Password account, then enter your account password.

After you sign in to 1Password 8, you can delete 1Password 7 from your iPhone or iPad.

Then set up 1Password 8 to save logins and sign in to websites in Safari and in apps and other browsers.

Upgrade if you have standalone vaults

If you’re using 1Password with standalone vaults, download 1Password 8 from the App Store. When you open the app for the first time, you can choose to migrate your data from 1Password 7.

You can also manually migrate your existing 1Password data from standalone vaults in 1Password 7 to a 1Password account.

After you migrate your data to 1Password 8, you can delete 1Password 7 from your iPhone or iPad.

Then set up 1Password 8 to save logins and sign in to websites in Safari and in apps and other browsers.

If you’re upgrading from 1Password 7

To get started, download 1Password 8 and install it. When you open the app for the first time, you’ll see all your accounts.

If you have standalone vaults, you can migrate your data to your 1Password account.

If you’re upgrading from 1Password 4

If you’re using 1Password 4, you’ll need to upgrade to 1Password 7 before you can upgrade to 1Password 8.

To get started, download 1Password 7 and install it. When you open the app for the first time:

• You can choose a vault to import.
• Your folders will be converted to tags.

After you import your first vault, click Subscribe Today to sign up for a 1Password membership. Set up your account, then migrate your data to your 1Password account.

Upgrade if you have a 1Password membership
