Use the sidebar in 1Password

Learn how to use the sidebar to organize items, check for security issues, and more.

In the 1Password app, you can use the sidebar to quickly manage your items and vaults. Everything you need is at your fingertips from the moment you unlock the app.

The sidebar

If you’re signed in to multiple accounts, click your account or collection at the top of the sidebar and choose All Accounts. You’ll see all of your accounts. To only see a single account or collection, choose it instead.

To see all of the items in the account or collection you’ve selected, click All Items.

To quickly access your favorite items, click Favorites. Learn how to mark items as favorites.

To view your Watchtower dashboard, click Watchtower. Learn more about Watchtower.

To view all the items in a vault, click the vault name. You can use drag and drop to move items between vaults. Learn more about moving and copying items.

To see items with a specific tag, click it. You can drag an item onto a tag to tag it. Learn more about organizing your items with tags.

To view your archive, click Archive.

To restore recently deleted items, click Recently Deleted.


Manage vaults

The vaults you see in the sidebar correspond to the account or collection you have selected.

To see all your vaults across all your accounts in the sidebar, click your account or collection at the top of the sidebar and choose All Accounts. To see only the vaults in a single account, choose it instead.

To see a custom group of vaults from any of your accounts, click your account or collection at the top of the sidebar and choose Manage Collections. Learn more about collections.

To create a vault, click in the sidebar. If you’re signed in to multiple accounts, choose the account where you’d like to create the vault.

To see how many people and groups have access to a shared vault, hover over the icon next to the vault name.

Tip

If you don’t see a specific section in the sidebar, learn how to customize the sidebar to turn on the section you want.

At the top of the sidebar, you’ll see which account or collection is currently selected. If you’re signed in to multiple accounts, you can tap the account or collection and choose All Accounts to see all of your accounts. To only see a single account or collection, choose it instead.

To see your home screen, tap Home. Learn how to customize your home screen.

To view your Watchtower dashboard, tap Watchtower. Learn more about Watchtower.

To search for items you saved in 1Password, tap Search. Learn more about search in 1Password.

To see all of the items in the account or collection you’ve selected, tap All Items. To view all the items in a specific vault, tap the name of the vault instead.

To create a vault, tap New Vault. If you’re signed in to multiple accounts, and you have All Accounts selected, tap New Vault under the account where you’d like to create the vault.

To see items with a specific tag, tap the name of the tag. Learn more about organizing your items with tags.

To view your archive, tap Archive. To restore recently deleted items, tap Recently Deleted.

To change the sections you see in the sidebar, including the order, tap Customize. Learn how to customize the sidebar.

To see all your vaults across all your accounts in the sidebar, tap your account or collection at the top of the sidebar and tap All Accounts. To see only the vaults in a single account, tap the name of the account instead.

To see a custom group of vaults from any of your accounts, tap your account or collection at the top of the sidebar and tap Create a Collection. If you’ve already created a collection, tap Manage Collections instead. Learn more about collections.

Customize the sidebar

You can customize which sections are shown in the sidebar, along with the order of the sections. To get started, scroll to the bottom of the sidebar and tap Customize.

To turn on a section, tap beside the name of the section. To turn it off, tap .

To rearrange sections, tap and hold the grab icon to the right of a section, then drag it to the place you want.

When you’re done making changes, tap Done.
