With 1Password Enterprise Password Manager - MSP Edition, you can:
- Set up and manage 1Password for your clients.
- Create custom groups and roles for your technicians to manage companies.
- Manage subscriptions and seats for your clients.
Below are some resources to help you start using 1Password for MSPs.
For MSP account owners
An account owner is the person who first sets up the 1Password MSP account. You can add multiple people to the Owners group. Owners can manage everything in the MSP account, so it’s best to add technicians to help manage client accounts.
For technicians
For technicians who are new to 1Password, start with the Administrators: Get started with 1Password page. It’ll introduce them to all the aspects of being an administrator in managed accounts, such as creating policies, custom groups, vaults, and implementing a recovery plan.

For team members in managed accounts
For team members in managed accounts, share the Team members: Get started with 1Password page as a starting point. It has a video to introduce them to 1Password, as well as steps to set up the browser extension, start using the apps, and share passwords with their team.
If some users in a managed account are helping with administration, they can review the Administrators: Get started with 1Password page too.
Appendix: Hide shared passwords
In 1Password, you can set permissions so that a user or group of users can share passwords and use them, but not reveal or copy them. To do this in 1Password Business, remove the “View and copy passwords” permission for a user or group on a vault. If you want this to be your default setting when your team shares a vault, omit this permission in your vault permissions policy.
Keep in mind that when passwords are hidden and autofill is used on a website that has a “show password” option, users will be able to view and copy it. This is expected behavior and is consistent across all password managers.
