Link related items in 1Password

Learn how to link items together in 1Password, so you can easily find them all by searching for a single item.

1Password lets you link related items together to stay organized. You can link:

  • credit cards and bank accounts to the Login item for your bank
  • a photo of your passport to the Passport item you already have saved
  • any item you want to find quickly when searching for a related one

You’ll see all related items in an item’s details. Select a related item to view it.

To link an item to the selected item:

  1. Select Edit, then select Add More > Link to a related item.

    You may need to scroll down to see these options.

  2. Select the related item, then select Save.

To remove a link from the selected item, select Edit, then select the minus button next to the related item and select Save.

Get help

Only items in the same vault can be linked.

Links in 1Password work in a single direction, but you can create two links – one in each direction – for any pair of items. For example, you can link a credit card to a bank login, then link the bank login to the credit card.

If you move or copy one or more linked items to a new vault, links to or from those items will be removed in the new vault.
