Kolide is now 1Password Device Trust

Learn what’s changing as Kolide becomes 1Password Device Trust, and how to prepare people in your organization for the new name and look.

Kolide is now part of 1Password, and the product name is changing to 1Password Device Trust. Over the coming weeks, the Kolide name, icons, and colors will be replaced with the Device Trust brand in the places you and your team members see them. Along with the new name and look, Device Trust is also adding Dark Mode.

The way Device Trust works isn’t changing. Checks and authentication will keep working the same as they do today.

Learn what’s changing and when so you can update your internal documentation, training materials, and support team guides before the new Device Trust name and icons appear.

  • The Device Trust mobile apps get the new name and icon in a later update.

Dark Mode

Device Trust will support Dark Mode for both admins and end users starting November 9th, 2026.

  1. Go to your profile settings in the admin console.

To turn on Dark Mode in the end-user portal:

  1. Go to your My Profile page in your browser.

What isn’t changing?

  • You don’t need to reinstall the agent or register devices again.
  • Your Checks, integrations, and authentication settings stay the same.
  • Some web addresses, file paths, and command names still include “Kolide”, like app.kolide.com.
  • The web addresses Device Trust uses, app.kolide.com and auth.kolide.com, aren’t changing at this time. You don’t need to update your SAML app configurations for the new name.

What should I do to prepare?

To help your team members with this change:

  • Update internal documentation, onboarding guides, and screenshots that show the Kolide name or logo.
  • Tell team members that the Kolide menu bar icon will be replaced with the Device Trust icon, so they don’t mistake it for an unfamiliar app.
  • Let your support teams know about the change, so they’re ready if team members ask whether the new Device Trust icon and sign-in screens are legitimate.
