How to move your data to a standalone vault to use 1Password without an account

Step 1. Create a standalone vault

If you don’t already have a Primary vault, create one:

  1. Open and unlock 1Password.
  2. Choose 1Password > Settings or Preferences and click Advanced.
  3. Turn on Allow creation of vaults outside of 1Password accounts.

Step 2. Copy your data to your Primary vault

Then copy your data from the vault(s) in your 1Password account to your Primary vault:

  1. Choose Vault > Switch to Vault, and select the vault that contains the items you want to move. Or click the name of your vault at the top of the sidebar and choose All Vaults to view all your items.
  2. Click All Items in the sidebar to see everything in the currently selected vault(s).
  3. Select an item in the list and choose Edit > Select All.
  4. Choose Item > Copy to Vault > Primary.

Your Document items will not be copied. To add them to the items they were previously attached to, download them from your old vault and drag them to the items in your Primary vault.

Step 3. Sign out of your account

To use 1Password without an account, choose 1Password > Settings or Preferences. Click Accounts, select your account, and click the - button.

To keep your data in sync, third-party advanced sync options may be available depending on your device.

Step 1. Create a standalone vault

If you don’t already have a Primary vault, create one:

  1. Open and unlock 1Password.
  2. Tap Settings > Vaults, then scroll down and tap Enable Standalone Vaults.
  3. Enter your 1Password account password.

Step 2. Copy your data to your Primary vault

Then copy your data from the vault(s) in your 1Password account to your Primary vault:

  1. Tap All Vaults and select the vault that contains the items you want to move. Or choose All Vaults to select all your vaults.
  2. Tap Categories, then tap All Items to see everything in the current vault(s).
  3. Swipe down on the item list and tap Select Items.
  4. Tap the empty circle in the top left to select all the items, then tap Copy.
  5. Tap Primary.

Your Document items will not be copied. To add them to the items they were previously attached to, download them from your old vault on your computer and drag them to the items in your Primary vault.

Step 3. Sign out of your account

To use 1Password without an account, tap Settings > 1Password Accounts > [your account name] > Sign Out.

Step 1. Create a standalone vault

If you don’t already have a standalone vault, create one:

  1. Open and unlock 1Password.
  2. Choose 1Password > New Vault on this PC.
  3. Enter a vault name and password.
  4. Choose the folder to save the vault to and click Continue.

Step 2. Copy your data to your standalone vault

Then copy your data from the vault(s) in your 1Password account to your standalone vault:

  1. Click All Vaults at the top of the sidebar and select the vault that contains the items you want to copy. Or choose All Vaults to view all your items.
  2. Click Logins in the sidebar.
  3. Right-click an item in the list of Logins and choose Select All.
  4. Choose Item > Share > [standalone vault name] > Copy.
  5. Repeat steps 2–4 for each category except Documents.

Document items cannot be copied to a standalone vault. To add them to the items they were previously attached to, download them from your old vault and add them as attachments to the items in your standalone vault.

Step 3. Sign out of your account

To use 1Password without an account, choose Accounts > [your account name] > Sign out.
