In early 2027, 1Password 7 will be officially deprecated. After the deprecation, customers who use 1Password 7 apps remain in an offline state, and any changes made in their 1Password accounts won’t reflect in 1Password 7 apps.
To avoid disruptions in your organization, you can migrate your team members to 1Password 8. To do so, you’ll need to remove the deployment of 1Password 7 before you immediately deploy 1Password 8. As long as your team using 1Password 7 with their 1Password accounts, you won’t have to worry about data loss. They’ll be able to sign back in to 1Password 8 and see all of their items.

Step 1: Migrate your enforced settings
If you have enforced settings in 1Password 7 through your MDM solution, prepare a new configuration profile for 1Password 8. You can refer to the enforcable settings in 1Password 7 as you create your new configuration profile.
Step 2: Remove 1Password 7 from your team’s Macs
Before you can deploy 1Password 8 to your team, you must revoke any app assignments for 1Password 7 and remove it from your team’s Macs.
The steps to revoke an app assignment and remove 1Password 7 will vary depending on your MDM solution. Some solutions, like Intune and Jamf, won’t automatically uninstall an app after you remove an assignment, so you’ll also need to prepare a script or an uninstallation policy to remove 1Password 7. Refer to your MDM solution’s documentation for the best practices on how to perform these steps.
