How to change your password if you have at least one standalone vault

The password for your first standalone vault (called Primary) will unlock 1Password. You can change your password in Preferences:

1. Open and unlock 1Password.
2. From the Vault menu, select Switch to Vault > Primary.
3. From the 1Password menu, select Settings or Preferences.
4. Select the Security icon, then select Change Master Password.

2. Select the Settings icon, then select Security.
3. Select Change Master Password.

If the first vault you added to 1Password is a standalone vault, edit your vault to change your password:

1. Select All Vaults at the top of the sidebar or select View > Show/Hide Vaults (or press CtrlD). If you have a different vault selected, you’ll see its name instead of All Vaults.
2. Select the ellipsis next to the standalone vault you want to edit, then select Edit vault.
