App Launcher is a personalized hub in your browser where you can view managed apps and quickly launch them. Your managed apps are assigned to you by your administrator in Trelica, and aren’t stored in your 1Password vaults. You can request access to an app directly from App Launcher.
Requirements
To access App Launcher in your browser, you must:
- Install a beta release of the 1Password browser extension.
- Have an up-to-date version of your browser.
App Launcher isn't supported in mobile browsers at this time.
Access App Launcher
By default, you’ll see the App Launcher when you open a new tab in your browser.
Get help if you don’t see App Launcher in a new tab page.
If you don’t see App Launcher on your new tab page, you can navigate to the App Launcher page with this link: App Launcher
Add this link to your browser’s bookmarks so you can always access your App Launcher page.
Find managed apps in the 1Password browser extension
You can also access your managed apps anytime in the 1Password browser extension.
Search for the managed app you want in the 1Password pop-up or select the menu above your item list > Managed apps to see a list of all your managed apps.

Explore App Launcher
Tip
If your team uses 1Password Device Trust (Kolide), you’ll see an icon on your App Launcher page that shows your device status. Select in the top-right corner to get more information about your device.
At the top of the App Launcher page, you’ll see tiles for your most-used managed apps.
Scroll down to the Apps section to see all the managed apps available for your organization. Select Sort in the Apps section to choose how managed apps are organized.
Hover over any managed app tile, then select the information icon to learn more about the app or to request access if needed.

Launch managed apps
Select a managed app tile from the App Launcher page or select Launch App from the browser extension, and 1Password will launch the website and sign you in automatically.
For apps that are protected with single-sign on (SSO), you’ll be redirected to your SSO providers sign-in page before the app launches.
Request apps
Scroll to the bottom of the App Launcher page and select Explore more apps. You’ll be taken to your team’s Trelica app catalog, where you can browse and request access to managed apps.
Search App Launcher
To search in App Launcher, select the search bar and start typing. Search results include your managed apps and items saved in your 1Password vaults.
If you want to exclude items in a specific vault from the search results, select in your browser’s toolbar. Select
> Settings, then select Accounts & vaults in the sidebar. Select or deselect vaults to include in App Launcher and browser extension searches.

Add shortcuts
You can choose to add shortcuts below your most-used apps. These can include both your managed apps and items you’ve saved in 1Password. Select Add shortcut below the most-used apps section, then search for or choose the app or item you want.
You can drag your shortcuts to rearrange them on your App Launcher page. Only eight shortcuts can be added to the App Launcher page. To remove a shortcut, select Add shortcut > Edit > .

Customize App Launcher
To manage your App Launcher settings:
- Select
in your browser’s toolbar.
- Select
and choose Settings, then select App Launcher.
You’ll find these settings:
- Always show the bookmarks bar on a new tab: The bookmarks in your browser’s bookmarks bar will show on the App Launcher page.
- Always launch apps in a new tab: Managed apps and Login items will launch in a new tab.
- Background: Choose a background wallpaper for your App Launcher page.
Get help
If you don’t see the App Launcher page in a new tab in your browser, contact your administrator. They might not have turned on this setting, or you might be using an unsupported browser.
If you see a 404 error when using the direct link to the App Launcher page, your administrator may have turned off the App Launcher, or you might be using an unsupported browser.
If you don’t see any managed apps in your App Launcher page or in the 1Password browser extension, you likely don’t have any managed apps assigned to you. You can request access to a managed apps through Trelica.
If you see a sign-in error on a website after launching an app, contact your administrator for more help. The app may not be assigned to you, or there could be a problem with the sign-in details.
