If you see “data folder no longer exists” or “1Password is unlinked from Dropbox” on your Android device

Get help when the vault you were syncing with was moved or your Dropbox account is unlinked.

About the error

The data folder 1Password is configured to sync with no longer exists.
1Password is unlinked from Dropbox.

When you set up syncing with Dropbox on your Android device, you authorize Dropbox to sync a specific vault with 1Password. Sometimes, you’ll need to start over:

  • If your vault was moved or removed from your Dropbox account
  • If you remove 1Password from your list of apps linked to Dropbox
  • If your Dropbox authorization expired

What you should do

To authorize Dropbox again or make any changes to your Dropbox configuration, like choosing a different vault, erase your 1Password data and start over:

  1. Open and unlock 1Password.
  2. Tap the ellipsis > Sync. If you haven’t set up syncing, sync with Dropbox or a local folder.
  3. Go to Settings > Advanced and tap Delete Primary Vault.
